This painting is aiming to identify the unclear figure
of human beings considered both as inner and outer
form.
The figures are drowning in a space that recalls the
amorphous space both of sea and sky, so maybe they are falling.
This painting, as often what my work, is about observing the dual aspect of
things, bodies and spaces, ‘corpo e spazio’ as Heidegger wrote in one of his
essay about art.
So i found myself in this series of paintings called Figure ( in Italian ) to arrive
to identify the body in a drop of colour, in which you can see something that
is speaking a language of images we all know: us, humans; and at the same
time, pushing the observer to identify himself.
The amoeba like figures are a perfect tool to express lifeforms without
identity.
