I began to work on this project in December 2020, during the second lockdown, and it turned into a proper personal diary. During the lockdown we had to give more importance to ourselves, our health and life, we had to reconsider the priorities of our existence and we had to avoid any social interaction. At first, I wanted to write down the emotions that I was living, but then I decided to paint instead of writing, because it seemed to be more natural for me. Therefore, I decided to impress all my feelings, both positive and negative, that arose like a flow, on a surface of wood other than paper. That’s because, once impressed, I couldn’t break it, but I had to keep it. I tried to express the incessant and changing moods of my soul with a pattern made by small distinct dots of colour. The mechanical gestures, required to make the dots, had been like a therapy for me. So, I created my “Feelings' Diary” which is divided into three parts, like a triptych: 3 canvas with 55 wooden dowels glued on each one. The pattern on each wooden piece represents the flow of negative and positive emotions. I would like art to be the bearer of a positive message of re-birth and hope after all the darkness we have experienced.
