I was inspired for this work by my recently started series of etchings. This in turn got its impetus from Jenny Saville's work "Reflective Flesh". When working on the drypoint radii, I like the raw, rough scratching and the tone of the plate that is created. So I created my own "plate tone" on the canvas through the underpainting in order to then work intuitively and dynamically with the chalks and charcoal.
The female body remains the motif. Falling, knotted, dancing, sensual.
