"Exodus" tells the story of migrant children from Latin America who came to America with their families because they wanted a better, safer life. Instead, they got separated from their parents and put into prisons. All because their skin color is brown and they're Hispanic.
In the painting, the children are escaping the prison, running away, but there is a cliff and we don't know where they will go or if they will survive. The prison is an evil monster trying to grab them and pull them back. They are just shadows because that's how our government sees them, not as real human beings. But WE see them. They are our children. Because we are one human family.
