In
this artwork we see Eros (represented by a woman) and Thanatos
(represented as an angel of death) united as two parts of the same
being, observing existence, in which life and death are debated. In
front of them appear beings from different eras and cultures. A being
with the head of a human being and the body of a bird carries a brush
(represents creative acts) and is terrified in Thanatos's eyes. A
horse mounted by two mutilated and alienated circus figures heads
towards the crowd. Spirits of gaseous forms emerge from bodies torn
by bombs and from ruined cities. An uncertain world burns and debates
between good and evil. And in a bunker, two white figures,
representing a pair of lovers, small and almost invisible in front of
the deadly maelstrom of these times, contemplate the northern lights.
