In Tibetan Buddhism, Green Tara is a fully enlightened buddha. This contemporary rendering of the female bodhisattva is a call to action. Utilised as a Yidam, a visual meditation tool, she is a representation of compassion and healing. Like in Jungian philosophy these emanations are one with the adept’s own mind and a universal archetype. Green Tara’s Yidam transmitted through painting reflects the reconstructive healing that humans collectively underwent during the COVID-19 pandemic. The absence of a fast-paced society allowed for deeper insight into the condition of our minds transforming the mental individual anguish into an insightful unified liberation.
