Excitement for an imminent departure on board the interstellar arch,
ready to cross the time window to a better world
This work
illustrates my artistic search for an escape to a better world, a
mainly inner escape to try to reach serenity.
This symbol of
escape was inspired to me by the philosophy of Annick de Souzenelle,
a writer of books on spirituality.
"Man's vocation
is to let the tree of knowledge grow in him. At the end of his life,
it becomes its fruit. The current drama is to try to grasp knowledge
from the outside and not from the inside. When the deep core of the
being is linked to the name of a spirituality, it is the beginning of
the construction of a new being. A field of consciousness is built
and one acquires the possibility to make new energies rise from
within oneself. This is the hidden meaning of the myth of the ark
passing through the destruction of the World".
"What Noah
brings up in the ark of himself, is not animals. It is these new
energies that he sought in the depths of his being, in this immense
reserve that is life. Finally, it is in a new world that he
approaches, enriched by this new knowledge. The dove and the raven
bring the external signs that testify that the ark has just emerged
in a new state of the world. They signify that in his inner being,
Noah has accomplished the totality of his work on himself"
quotations from Mrs De Souzenelle
The shape of the
painting is a rectangle with a broken angle: open like a window that
we open to escape to another world, a new world to build and invent
that we want better where everything becomes possible again. The arch
placed at the entrance of the opening (the pebble fixed on the
board), is preparing to take off towards this new world. The
superimposed cone-shaped dots evoke the living beings who want to
take part in this great journey and rush towards the interstellar
vehicle. The inclination of the cones opposite to the direction they
are heading reinforces the idea of precipitation. The eccentric
superposition of smaller and smaller dots gives relief to the
characters. The decrease in the size of the future passengers as they
approach the ship symbolizes a shrinking area of individuals ready to
embark, suggesting hope to a larger number, hence the mass of
individuals all heading in its direction. We find these same symbols
of movements on the roof directed towards the tip, another access to
the vehicle to further increase the craze for this hope of a new
beginning. The uniformity of the colors on a very clear plain
background further reinforces the agitation and the mass of the
participants in the great adventure.
