This painting comes from a series of works based of the concept of food in cinema, the possibilities of food and the way food and sexual desire are intertwined. Often in film food acts a third party - the viewer, the actor, and the food item. I look at ways food is used in language and without language to portray or evoke an array of emotions. The inspiration of the pie is taken from the film American Pie - known universally for the scene of the boy masturbating into the pie. The idea of "women as desserts" is explored and the ridiculous nature of comparing women to pie - e.g. "a piece of pie", "easy as pie"
