The figures appear paralyzed and suspended in an indefinite space and time, but there is something that holds everything together. It's as if there was some sort of magic, which isn't explained to us. What seems clear is that such a thin line meets a mass, and the two somehow vibrate. A very strong dichotomy emerges between lightness and heaviness. The mass, culturally endowed with its own heaviness, appears devoid of autonomy, while the thread, by definition a soft and shapeless element, seems to be what supports the figures. Lightness and heaviness therefore seem to be reversed in their original definition.
