This piece is from the series “Scroll”, which examines the processes and philosophical workings of the inner world. The titles are inspired by poetry written by the artist and lyrics from her favorite songs. Each artwork is made with a single sheet of painted linen paper, reminiscent of traditional Chinese and Japanese scrolls. The colours in this series are inspired by the Indian Saree.
This painting was shortlisted for the Wells Art Contemporary prize 2023 in Wells, England.
Method: The paper panels are painted with water soluble graphite on linen paper, precisely cut and then mounted onto a prepared wood board. The color blocks are painted with acrylic paint. All materials used are archival quality.
