This painting shows my feelings about the war in the Ukraine. It's from the series "Dead Birds". In contrast to most of my other paintings it doesn't show the bird in the universe of a child. It doesn't show the child's thoughts and feelings, it just shows the dead baby bird in place of the child, as a symbol of war and death. I found a dead baby bird, a little magpie, thrown out of the nest, in my garden. It moved my heart, so I painted it.
