Dante Academy London UK 2021The oil on canvas work entitled "Dante and Beatrice’s Eden sized 100x80 cm is inspired by the last verse of the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri: "Love that moves the sun and the other stars" taken from Paradiso XXXIII verse 145. In close-up Dante observes his love Beatrice portrait. On the right the Vergina sun, symbol of the ancient Macedonian state, refers to the painter's Hellenic roots and the solar element, an astral constellation echoes Dante's aphorism. On the left a hand between the railings of a prison represents the concept of hell but also of deprivation of freedom. The abstract and polychromatic background seems to move in a metaphysical space, a dark forest belonging to a third dimension, like the desire and will of the poet that underlies the aforementioned phrase . The stars represent the goal to which Dante aspires and like the phrase that inspires the painting, it contains the meaning of Dante's entire work, so the pictorial interpretation contains the meaning of his artistic translation. This artwork will be at the Dante Art Prize in London on september 2021 It’s a multimedial artwork with music and song by Soprano Silvia Colombini titled “Amors”
