Through painting I explore other worlds’ possibilities, where the subjects are engaged in silent dialogues, suspended in ambiguous and sometimes magical atmospheres.
I consider art as a window onto infinite and imaginary landscapes, where reality’s elements can be deformed into oniric and hallucinated visions frozen in time, readable in multiple ways.
This painting is a reflection on the Hieronimus Bosh’s homonym painting. In Bosh’s painting, the wizard/surgeon is looking for a stone that would be the cause of the subject’s madness, inside his brain. I felt fascinated by this scene and I wanted to re-code it in my language.
