Illustration n1 from a still open series with the non-definitive name "Oracoli" ("Oracles").
The theme of the drawing is the rocky island in the Mediterranean Sea, cradle of Western civilisation. I wanted to rethink the Palace of Knossos in a simpler and more compact geometric shape (the cube), to be placed on a rocky base. This one is characterized by a cartouche which reads "KNOSSOS" written in greek lettering, and a long vertical "wound" inside which various buildings are nestled. The lines below reproduce the sea and its waves, and form the background to help the viewer dive into that world and that atmosphere.
