From the pictorial intervention of photographs, I manipulate individual or
collective memory, with the intention of decontextualizing and (re) semantizing
spaces that become immutable once they are captured by the lens. I am
interested in the fact that the strong brushstrokes or color fillings
accentuate the intention of presenting (re)constructed, superimposed
environments. Sometimes, I use them to highlight a specific area that interests
me or to communicate a specific emotion that a certain piece provokes in me, it
is a way of leaving more of me in each work, something much more spiritual, a
feeling. I interpose images, playing with the compositions, the characteristics
of each photograph, the light, the spaces, the architecture or any factor that
allows me to alter that imperishable reality to recreate a new context in which
these memories, now fragmented, come together. The intention is to recreate,
from my pieces, the way in which memories work in our mind, as a superposition
of layers of our memory in which moments, spaces, people, emotions are
intermingled; as moving images, but once there they are immutable.
