The work is dedicated to all children who die for various reasons. The shipwreck of last June 29 in the Mediterranean, in which several children died, led me to paint and create this installation. Children who are boarded by their parents on rubber dinghies or makeshift boats to reach Europe, fleeing wars, famines and misery, are dressed in red by their parents because in the event of the boat capsizing or sinking they are easily recognizable at sea.
One cannot accept the deaths of hundreds, thousands of human beings at sea, especially when it comes to children
The installation is made on canvas with mixed technique and glued-up children's clothes and white drippings on the bottom.
The installation foresees to be flexibly adapted to the exhibition spaces; in fact it can be hung on the wall or placed on the ground. If it is placed on the ground, flower petals are provided around it.
