Chasing the sun

My passion for nature and its beauty forcing me to continuously chase the perfect sunset. This desire to experience beauty of the nature is expressed in this abstract visionary landscape of sun that is submerging to the sea.

The 3d impression comes alive once viewing point is shifted. The viewer has an impression that he/she has been followed by the artwork. Many highlights and golden elements are only visible at the correct angle, and they change with different lighting. Backside lights will make this paint very dramatic.

This abstract mixed media was created with gesso, acrylics, and golden foil. Firstly, an in depth 3d effect was achieved by sculpturing with gesso in multiple steps adding layers to create deep effect. Next, using acrylic poring the background sky was created following by the see and the sun. Finally, the sun highlights were painted, and gold foil elements were added.

Finally,  the golden foil and gold metal were glued to emphasise the sparling effect of the sun.
