My
work displays a strong preference for realistic images that range from film
stills to artificial landscapes and sinking interiors. My inspiration comes from travels where I like
to document through photographs a large variety of places: museums,
architecture, landscape, everyday life. It is my way to get a grasp of the
place and it is usually the starting place of a new project. An idea starts to
take shape, like the artificial habitat series inspired by a biodome, or the painted
ceilings, and I follow it, searching for more images and compositions I can
work with. I
prefer oil on canvas for the sheer pleasure of working with it in successive
layers, it has the best tactility for a great variety of subjects.
