My paintings are representations of spaces in which life is presented in its existential dynamics. I search for the narrative capacity of reality and people around me while finding my own voice to represent these stories. For me, painting is a tool of communication between myself and the world, not so much in terms of a deep mutual understanding but rather as a catalyst for feelings and emotions.
In the process of creation, I am faced with hybrid images and compositions, layers of paint that intertwine: a style of painting that blurs the boundaries between the figurative and the abstract, drawing and painting, harmony and chaos, intention and chance. A constant back and forth. The drawing always serves as a skeleton in my work. It gives me the freedom to apply paint in a less conscious way - reaching the moment where figuration breaks.
I think paintings have the ability to retell stories. I'm not interested in portraying objective reality, but am fascinated by the complexity of reality where multiple feelings and perspectives intermingle. As a painter I invite the viewer to plunge into the symbolic and the poetic. Going beyond representation, each tableau pulls the viewer closer to the subjectivity of human consciousness: a distillation of personal experience, of a particular moment - presenting hybrid compositions that remain open and fluid to the viewer’s interpretation.
