It is not a
light that radiates but a flat and invariable light that defines spaces and
creates scenes. The lines that divide the spaces operate as limits, segmenting
spaces and developing internal structures that provide more expression and
movement. When I start painting, I don't do it on an empty surface but on a
form of space previously defined by the type of surface.
