The artwork is homage to 16 cent Theodore De Vry etchings. They describe a fantastical, different “New” world full of sickening excitement. As a mirrored image of the established order of the “Old” world.The artwork is about the transfer of information between generations.The different reads of the basic "text: of a fact.The segments describing our human image are based on agreed upon dimensions and relationships. The change of proportions turns the recognizable human outlines into unrecognizable patternsI am always interested in the sudden moment of the emergence (and the loss) of meaning.The algorithmic transformation explores the fluidity of the “humanness” of the subjects involvedin the simplest and most basic human task- to ensure the survival of the offspring. The artwork is an physical artifact of algorithmic animation, recreated as an object with simple industrial materials.
