Candle-lit portraits
They stage baroque lightings and contemporary bodies. I aim at playing with the contrast between the two.
I have chosen to work on very large canvases to impose a strong presence of the bodies on the watchers.
I have picked models who are involved in the Queer culture and Body Positivity, and who express with their bodies an intensity and/or a tension that contrasts with the pictorial treatment and the light.
