June 2020. Waves of violence occur in the United States in response to the police abuse of African American citizens. The violence of the crowd rages on everything and everyone, blindly, even claiming innocent victims. This scenario of riots and guerrillas led me to reflect on the condition of those who are inclined to feel different, sometimes inferior, due to a mere biological fact that affects the quality of life, the possibility of integration into society, all dreams and projects of personal and work development.
The resulting sense of oppression led me to choose a visual representation in which movement is clearly impeded, blocked under the weight of a large mass of snow. Through a window almost shattered by the riots, a scene of sad immobility: as if buried by an avalanche, only the heads of the mannequins emerge from the snow, a visual metaphor of the clipped dreams of many people who find themselves forced to give them up due to their social background.
