Lukashenka is about women who were victims of violence during the peaceful protests on August 10-13 in Belarus. Some of them were raped. And that violence was directed not only at women. This painting symbolise Belarus at all. The red cloth on which she lies has the outlines of Belarus. Her face is hidden because it doesn’t belong to a specific person, but to the whole country. This painting is about how people all over the Belarus felt and, sometimes, feels now.
