A little girl, the sea, balloons, rubber animals. A cheerful image. Are we sure? What if there were no more sea creatures in the sea than that one goldfish in the bottle?
In this second work of the series Back to the Plastic Age, the protagonists are two: a girl and a goldfish. The girl prays observing a sea, in which cute and colorful rubber animals, with which she once played, now assume a bleak meaning. In the sea there is no longer a coexistence between real and fake but the artificial has taken over, has completely replaced the other creatures, not able to adapt to the disruptive presence of plastic. The little girl observes that seemingly colorful and funny sea with dismay. The adaptation, in fact, does not bring in man important morphological or physiological changes, because man is released from the environment because he is able to modify it. But what if the changes that the human being makes are such that they are no longer controllable? What happens, if in a sea of fish, a source of food and life, there is no more nourishment? The child looks at the sea and prays. In the plastic bottle in front of her, she saw a small goldfish: hope, the chance to go back.
