Artemis Herber engages in questions of man made and references to re-defining concepts of landscapes and nature informed by multiple aspects of the Anthropocene and Capitaloscene. Herber employs a comprehensive metaphorical language borrowed from Greek myths, their transformed and updated versions throughout the history of literature and the arts.
In experimental gestures and painterly actions of spilling, soaking, mopping and raking with over-dimensional, brushes, brooms and spatulas refined by collage and de-collage, Herber reveals the collective coherence with constant re-figurations of multi-gestures and that seemingly merge into cohesive body of work as a metaphor of shared values and responsibilities.
