"ATLANTİS HALL"
This painting as he previous one that I am presenting are an investigation on materials,surfaces and textures, focused on the game between bidimensional and tridimensional perception of the image, and the research on colour shifting and olographic effects of painting. I created them by layering , pigments, manipulated with temperature, salt, marble powder, epoxy resin on expanded polystyrene foam and metal casing.
These works are also the main part of a project that envisages an imaginative narrative universe, a generative world that revolves around the myth of Atlantis. The works that come from this approach are the expression of my fascination with the myths of Atlantis. The disappearance of this civilization is assumed to have occurred around 2 million years BC, when humanity passes from Australopithecus to Homo Habilis, when the first men learn to handle tools.
“The project documents the story that began in 2018 with an expedition 800 meters under the sea, when professor Bjorn Gustavsson, a mental character who becomes my Virgil ,found the megalopolis of Atlantis.
The architectures that have been found near the "Acropolis" are giant buildings, covered in sparkling colours which, analysed by scientists, seem to be the result of a mix between the flora and bacterial fauna of the abyss and the sexual pheromones of the extinct inhabitants, which are hypothesized to be similar to sirens.

The aim of the project is to provoke a reflection on our possible future through the vision of a remote and unknown past, being able to contemplate the beauty and power of a civilization which, despite everything, has died out and disappeared. We do not know what upheavals were the cause of the end of Atlantis, the tragedy that marked its end, but we do know that it happened. Today we mistakenly feel immortal. The transience of things, the fragility of the planet, shaken and attacked by pollution that grows exponentially and causes dramatic changes in the ecosystem, can lead to a catastrophe that is perhaps closer than we imagine. Thus Atlantis becomes a "MEMENTO MORI", the heart of a project like a thread that connects the distant past of the previous eras to our ephemeral and tragically fragile future.
