Ascension I-VII is a continuous sequence of paintings and is therefore
best viewed and sold as a collective unit. The stated price includes all
seven paintings sold together. This series of paintings has an
underlying timeless, spiritual and universal appeal, and is also
influenced from my sense of what Ireland would have felt like during
pagan-celtic times ( ca.500B.C-500A.D) The use of gold is majestic and
at the same time, grounding, due to it's underlining earth tone, thus
echoing a sense of the divine in nature. The use of line in the series
of work not just represents the instinctive need of people to make their
mark, but also helps the viewer to ascend into a deeper plane within
themselves. The line is positioned on the top of the first painting and
it gradually forms a circle, becoming engulfed in gold, before
descending in the final painting.
