"Aci and Galatea, ovvero la pelle e l'acqua" is an acrylic and oil on canvas.
The myth of Aci and Galatea tells of two lovers and a third, Polyphemus, who was deeply jealous of that love. Polyphemus, blinded by rage, tries to kill Aci and the passion that existed between the two. However, the love that Galatea felt for the man was so strong that she was able to transform the blood of the beloved into the welcoming waters of a river. The girl's skin thus had the eternal possibility of finding comfort in the touch with that water.
