This is one of my recent group of paintings that utilize themes of architecture and landscape in relation to the human body to discuss and critique the constructions of systems of belief. Within these paintings, I build imagery of sacred spaces, devoid of specific religious or spiritual demarkations, in order to allow all audiences a place for spiritual and meditative contemplation. I purposefully am creating a new system of symbolism within my works in effort to reconnect my audience with the ineffable source of all spirituality, outside of specific cultural or temporal paradigms.
