This work is composed of 365 small portraits that are juxtaposed from line to line. Thus it adapts to all wall spaces.
365 is the result of a performance that took place over a year.
Every morning, a portrait, based on a telephone photograph from the day before, the same day, or the days before, as we met.
The choice of format is a way of testing an addiction to gigantism. Unlike the large format, the miniature restricts and concentrates the gesture.
One and the same format. A single technique. Regularity.
In a meditative state.
Like a breath, the portraits multiplying day by day on the studio wall.
Obsessively.
Faces from various angles.
All brothers.
Painting like a tower crossed by the wind, filtering the stories of others.
No measure.
The four intruders. A baby, a monkey, a portrait of a young girl by Rubens and an unfinished one with a paper-coloured forehead.
