This painting is a less dramatic and softer representation of a person
practicing Shibari.
This painting was born from my desire to represent less
spectacular scenes from my daily life while remaining close to my practice of
Shibari. There are still a lot of prejudices against the practice of Bondage
and by painting this scene I wanted to show that it has its place in a rather
calm daily life. I can be seen lying down, calm, on my phone with a relaxed
look on my face. A soft atmosphere emanates from this scene thanks to the
position of the body, the folds on the pillow and the rope twisted on itself. The
canvas left blank in the background reinforces the soft aspect with its color
but also reinforces the natural aspect echoing the notion of everyday life. For
once, the rope remains in the background, it is discreet but still remains present
all the same.
