"You Yu Chu Ting" is a Chinese ancient saying which means "the music is so good that the fish is out of water to listen to it". This project has invited countless djs and musicians to be part of it. It asks them to play sounds in the open field, and the artist would make a giant abstract fish sculpture due to the feeling caused by the sounds. With various styles of music and sounds, each time the sculpture would be different. And even the artist don't know where it's going but to follow the music and sounds----it's like being guided by what you get to hear to move one's hands. And in the end, where the music has been, the fish has been as well. This is a poetic gesture to celebrate how magical and magnificent sounds can be in this visual world, also creating a proof that music does much better sculpture than I do.
