This is an
artistic intervention in full burnt nature to raise awareness about
the importance of caring for and preserving forests.
The scene consisted of 49 pieces of mannequins painted black,
brown and grey to reaffirm the connection with burned nature and
verify that earth, animals and humans are a unity.
The scene was inspired in the moment the fire is taking place and once it is
finished. When nature is burning everything shakes and balance is
lost. In the middle of the flames the chaos is originated, death wins
land to life. This decontrol is symbolised with the dismember of the
mannequins to emphasize the idea that during and after a fire
everything is destroyed, nothing is in its natural state.
The
mannequins carried handwritten green optimistic words on their bodies
as a symbol of hope. The catalan words have to do with the desires of
the affected people meanwhile other terms refer to attitudes and
actions related to the the will and need to regenerate the territory.
There is
only a mannequin part that denotes life may be possible again: a
green hand with the word 'Rebrotem' (we resprout) which reveals to us
that nature will be reborn and continue on its way.
The event
took place in Maials-Flix and was promoted by Cendrart, on October
2019, to raise awareness about the devastated fire that took place in
several rural municipalities near Lleida province, Catalonia.
