Inspired by Kohut's self-psychology theory, I made this work about the self, growth, and freedom. Our self are like these ice balls, strong yet fragile. The messy yarn in the ice ball are like the confusions and problems that each of us encounters, but the yarn are colorful. These experiences constitute our unique personality and make you and me. Under the summer sun, the ice balls on the trees slowly melt, like a drizzle after which the colorful threads are finally free.
