The
objective of this project was to support world’s number one tennis player, who
wholeheartedly promoted the idea of providing financial aid for all the
low-ranked tennis players, who, due to COVID pandemic, were facing existencial
crisis as a result of not playing tennis in tournaments. Instead of praise and
support he deserved, world’s number one was ’tarred and feathered’. This work
is part of “Let’s first look at ourselves before we look at others“ series.
I see sports
courts as magical places, which, like polished magic mirrors, when you ask
them, tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. This kind of
parallel is fitting in tennis especially, where claycourts are raked and
polished after each set.
Polishing the court took six hours during the night when
the court was raked and polished so it ended up with Novak’s face on it!
This project
shows how important brushes can be to get the real picture of real values, as
well as how important spiritual cleansing, which is a landmark of sport, is.
