With this installation, we aim to raise awareness about contemporary issues and provide a space that can be discovered and used for profound conversations. Placed in public spaces or within institutions, this group of benches acts as an inviting and interactive venue for discussion groups.
As people discover the installation and take a seat, a natural environment for dialogue and reflection emerges. The design, with its intriguing forms and inviting configuration, encourages interaction and serves as a conversation starter. The subtle nuances in the placement of the benches and the open yet intimate arrangement create a space that offers both comfort and contemplation.
My work always balances between art and design and has a clear social grounding. By designing conceptual objects that explore the boundaries of the disciplines art & design, I strive to add aesthetic and substantive value to the spaces in which they are placed. This installation is thus a visual statement, but above all, an invitation to dialogue and self-reflection.
The benches are designed to be flexible, with the ability to adapt to different group sizes and needs. They invite people to sit, talk, share stories, and experiences. Through their placement in public or semi-public spaces, they become a natural focal point for social interaction, a place where people come together to discuss current issues, share personal experiences, and gain new insights.
This installation transcends the function of traditional seating, it is a catalyst for conversations, a space for community building, and a platform for awareness. The design is inspired by the need for connection and the power of collective dialogue. Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life, it offers a point of calm where each individual’s voice can be heard, and where joint reflection leads to a deeper understanding of the world around us.
