A woman, a goddess, a spirit who watches over the nature to which she belongs. Created with branches, ropes, and reclaimed wood from the restoration of Certosa urban park in Venice, she is the daughter of the lagoon.
The work is the result of an artistic upcycling collaboration between artists and organization across the Veneto region: Arborete, a company of arborists who have dealt with the restoration of the park; Teatro invisibile, creator of the UrbArt project that takes felled trees and turns them into art works; Vento di Venezia, facilitator of the island's regeneration program in partnership with the Municipality of Venice; and NaturalArte, creator of the SelvArt Park in Roana. A project that passes from the mountain to the lagoon, through the pianura padana, using natural waste and transforming it into art.
It has been created by Sara Celeghin and Marco Martalar, two artists cooperating to give life to a meaningful installation that put together art and circular economy giving values to lagoon leftovers in a beautiful island in Venice.
