"Until Sun Breaks Through" is a rendering of my memory about a foggy morning in the forest when the sun is still working hard trying to break through the misty shield of fog rising off a cool lake. It seems at times like it will never break through, but you know that there is no fog or force that can block the sun and its promise of hope. This work is executed by blending several layers of semi-transparent abstract, digital textures and then adding a recognizable image to create familiarity in an otherwise surreal environment. The digital outcome is printed with pigment based inks on heavy, acid-free watercolor paper, enhanced with soft pastels, mounted on cradled wooden panel (4 cm deep), fixed and varnished.
