Elegy for an Elephant is a picture book of three children seeking their father’s soul. It honors ways we can connect to loved ones we have lost, and the timeless nature of love. This is an artwork from one of it’s pages.
Here an elephant's face spans the stars, as a herd of elephants cross picture book plains. An elegy is a lamentation for those who have died. This is an elegy for an elephant named Elysium.
The artwork in this book was created with watercolours, pencils, sea salt and seawater sourced from Aireys Inlet, Cape Town, Melbourne and Sydney. The artwork was hand painted, professionally scanned and digitally harmonised on Photoshop.
Elegy for an Elephant is an imprint of Narratives of Nature.
This is a limited one of one edition: specially printed for the Arte Laguna Prize in large format.
