This work explores the relationship between fate and self-choice in individual life. Aeschylus, the father of ancient Greek tragedy, advocated that fate dominates human beings, but people have the freedom to choose their behavior and bear moral responsibility for their own actions. It is believed that the conflict between fate and freedom is the root cause of human suffering. Aeschylus's ancient Greek tragedies are famous for their fascinating stage effects and strange and terrible masks and costumes. So I used this unique artistic language to create and sublimate!
The picture adopts the arch symmetrical composition of the panoramic grand theater, which is in the form of triptypic, with a circular arch in the middle and symmetrical on both sides. In the overall state of rising from the bottom up, the work uses the elements of the thick smoke of volcanic ash in the digital graphics to reorganize and transform. The rising thick smoke instantly forms a strange shape like a solidified sculpture. Together with the protagonist of the life in it, it presents a sad and mysterious and strange stage effect. At the bottom of the picture are different shapes of pagodas on the plain, like open magic bottles, and the smoky smoke rushes out of it! It symbolizes the freedom of individual life and the domination and suppression of fate. The contradictions and uneasiness of the two are intertwined to complete the meaning of life.
This work uses virtual digital generation of volcanic smoke elements as the basis, uses photoshop and illustrator for image editing and processing, and enhances the mysterious effect of the picture through the further depiction of the procreate stylus.
