Io & Me is a project I carried out during the lockdown and is aimed at telling the story of a character who faces his loneliness and his multiple states of mind within the walls of his home.
Far away from our everyday lives, forced to stay in our homes and confined to our spaces, we spent months in close contact with ourselves... Accustomed to hectic lives, to jumping from one place to another, to meeting people, in short, to all that flow of life outside of us, we were forced to look inside ourselves and get to know ourselves better, whether we wanted to or not. We came face to face with our moods and mood swings. Learning to swallow boredom and resignation.
The character, also presented in the form of a graphic novel, has only one eye, like the Cyclops, described in Greek mythology as monstrous beings living isolated from each other in natural caves. This eye can also be traced back to the eye described in Hindu and Buddhist religious traditions, the eye that corresponds to the sixth chakra, called the forehead, a kind of "inner eye".
The appearance of this character and his visible 'anomaly' is the result of these two insights.
