My subject :Depth, Movement and Transparency
The work thrives on the deptheffect of 3 sight- levels:
the interesting, abstract lower photo level, created by superimposition,
the middle level, painted vertical lines like a transparent curtain and the top level ( painted) like a floating trace of paint.
As the tracks run in opposite direction and flow throug, I increase the depth effect.
Visionary
worlds: When photography and painting become one
In her
current works, the artist Barbara Goertz integrates painting as a material
level into her multi-layered photographic art.
The
resulting photographic images live from both art forms and their
transformation. Her works are characterized by the artistic interplay between
multi-layered and thus alienated photography and gestural overpainting as an
additional level of the photo.
In her
composition, she explores the question of how much her usual perception can be
dissolved by the altered materiality of the immediate surroundings.
The artist
takes up a subject of modern art in a targeted way and varies it with a
pleasurable confession: "...the exciting and attractive thing for me is
the design of the intermediate worlds of both art forms, thus also the 'space'
in between. The artistic fusion of rigid photography with three-dimensional,
living painting and thus the creation of new visual worlds".
