The worlds I create balance on the edge of the figurative. They are not so much an attempt to reproduce nature as a record of free imaginative work – always based on the familiar. They are sometimes created over weeks, at their own natural pace, and contain internal rhythms and loops. Although no human silhouette appears in any of them, they are, for me, constant proof of the impossibility of transcending our own human consciousness.
The work 'Efflorescence' is by far the densest and most extensive of the compositions created in this way. It is a reflection of the issues that interest me most: questions about the boundaries between 'real' and 'artificial', 'present' and 'absent', and above all: 'animal' versus 'human'.
