Delightful Land Variation is from my collection Inspiration from the Masters. A project that results in a series of variations based on themes from the masters of the past that are truly inspiring. From the sacred and traditional techniques of oil painting to new and innovative digital art concepts I strive to present my works in new ways. My works presented here are all pure digital artworks that have been created firstly through traditional oil on canvas which I then recreate in digital art programs.
Painting feeds my soul, emotions and impressions. When I am creating all my energy is converted to colours and abstract forms more or less geometrical. I am always looking to recreate the beauty that I see and feel. My process requires patience and concentration. I love pulling elements from my inspirations and working them into shapes and colourful spaces. Swirls, dots, curls and lines add elements of depth and excitement. My imagination guides me in my colour choice and composition. In each painting I work toward a greater harmony.
Delightful Land Variation was inspired by Gauguin and created while living in West Africa. There I felt a powerful heat and was drawn to the works and life of Gauguin. With variants of warm colours I recreated the intense tropical heat. The canvas is filled with flowing curving forms and grouped polygons. A stylized woman stands among a dreamy kind of nature.
