in China are the words that make a big part of our lives, mo matter whether
during the communist regime or democracy. Similarly to the so many goods
produced in and exported from China, the Romanian comunist regime had been
imported from the same China, like the consumer goods of the capitaist regime.
This world superpower offers a wide range of everything: the map, Romania’s
flag made in China, sharpeners, pensil cases with girls winking on them,
animated rulers, toy dragons, porcelaine, geishas, samurais, manga, karate,
ninjas, pagodes, Budha statues, amulettes, and other stuffs are all constantly
present in the so called mioritic region. In a nutshell, the relishes of the
Romanian contemporary world all have it written somewhere hidden Made in China.
representative artists of the Konstant Art Gallery in Oradea - having been
brought up first in the comunist regime, then in democracy- all had a
childhood, followed by their adolescence period, made in China. Without having
ever lived on the yellow continent, Teodora Bicescu, Constantin Costea, Remus
Ilisie Florian, Zoltán Jedlicska, Sara Kapas, they all admit it visually that
the greatest part of Romania is made in China. And thus they are presenting it
very precisely in their works through istallations/outfits/appliances,
paintings or multimedia.
