Silk Egg Pendant

When a human being adorns herself, jewelry is most often displayed on the skin.  Skin and jewelry are thus closely related. Towe Norlén has been working with world leading researchers in skin bio-physics in order to developed a design that follows, at the microscopic level, the basic physical principles that nature uses when creating the skin . The skin design is named Silk and is applied on a egg shaped pendant, through a collaboration with T Fabergé. The egg is build up in a 3D printer, since it is impossible to make a mould. It is then cast in 18K gold. A  handmade drop-shaped bail holds the egg on a chain.
