It is said Venice is a fish, caught in a net weaved by her
inhabitants, after sailing the seven seas.
The gowns illustrate
this story with shapes that echo the fishnets and the opulence of the
cathedrals, in a constant alternation between the daily life and the
uncommonness, the stone and the lagoon.
The studio of volumes
evolves from the “Arte Povera” or poor art, gathering/evoking the
scenes of the fishermen and the tipical
venetian scenery. Even
beyond blend in the colours we can see the high tide that submerges
the City. The fabrics and all the work behind them describe us the
flavour of the Baroque.
In this piece we've applied various layers of silk organzas and gauzes, handstitched on a silk satin, to recreate the marbles of the Ca d'Oro courtyard.
