L’idea di quest'opera, un grande planisfero sagomato in legno ed impreziosito dall’uso
di materiali pregiati nella definizione degli elementi di dettaglio, esprime il
desiderio di rappresentare il mondo come un luogo da esplorare e di cui avere
cura come un’opera d’arte unica e preziosa. L’utilizzo di legno recuperato dai
telai di vecchie porte trasmette il messaggio di come anche piccoli gesti
possano contribuire a rendere migliore quel mondo, dando valore al sacrificio
dell’albero che torna a trasformarsi e rivivere in forme sempre nuove.
L' idea del planisfero nasce circa 10 anni fa quando, in
attesa di un volo internazionale, si trovava in un terminal affollato.
Desideroso di tranquillità, sognava di riposarsi comodamente in un
angolo sdraiato su una choice long ad ammirare un planisfero.Dopo aver
chiuso questo sogno in un cassetto della sua fervida immaginazione di
artista, decide di aprirlo e rendere reale il suo progetto con la
speranza che milioni di viaggiatori possano " viverlo" in tutti gli
aeroporti del mondo.
Le città del planisfero, che sono 204, vengono segnalate con una pallina d'oro 750 e la capitale d'Italia Roma, con un diamante, in collaborazione con mia moglie e gioielliera. Questi dettagli impreziosiranno l'opera finale.

The idea of the first work
presented, a large planisphere shaped in wood and embellished with the
use of fine materials in the definition of the detailed elements,
expresses the desire to represent the world as a place to explore and to
take care of as a unique and precious work of art. The use of wood
recovered from the frames of old doors conveys the message of how even
small gestures can contribute to making that world better, giving value
to the sacrifice of the tree that returns to transform and live again in
ever new forms.
The idea of the planisphere was born about 10
years ago when, waiting for an international flight, he found himself in
a crowded terminal. Longing for tranquility, he dreamed of resting
comfortably in a corner lying on a choice long to admire a planisphere.
After having closed this dream in a drawer of his fervent imagination as
an artist, he decided to open it and make his project real with the
hope that millions of travellers can "experience it" in all the airports
of the world.
The cities of the planisphere, which are 204, are marked with a 750 gold ball and the capital of Italy Rome, with a diamond, in collaboration with my wife and jeweler. These details will embellish the final work.
