Aaron Virata Mempin (b. 1982)
Aaron Virata Mempin, “A” as people call him, is a marketing professional by trade and has been stirring conversations through his art and creativity. His exposure to friends and family of artists enabled him to eventually get in to the beautiful world of sining.
His abstract and figurative art styles stems from his and the Filipinos’ love for the beach. His time(s) spent there fuels his profound mind to begin his creative process. Each element he experiences, from the lines drawn on the sand to the serenity of the waves, gives him a certain calmness, a feeling that he likes to get out of his viewers.

When he was invited to join Hiraya, a local art exhibit, Aaron immediately asked himself- if Mr. Fernando Amorsolo, the Philippines' 1st national artist, was still alive, would they have anything in common? Would they have a shared interest other than art? After studying through his many masterpieces, Aaron found “By the Beach”, “Boat by the beach” and “Sailing boat”. These works resonated well with Aaron as Amorsolo displayed his love for seascapes and seaside living. This prompted A to begin his creative process.
He envisioned to develop 3 pieces. Each telling a different story but collectively, portraying the beauty of looking beyond the horizon. The styles he used were a mix of abstract and figurative expressionism to depict natural land elements and the sea. As one looks intently on each piece will give the viewer a feeling of calm and hopefulness.
